Home Sweet Home
I returned home from Fiji to an empty house last Sunday. Luke and Cayla were away visiting friends in the mainland so I decided to busy myself with website design! Hence... my new blog and new look. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. What do you think?
Surf has been small but my sessions have been productive. Kewalos. The usual. Love surfing at home with familiar faces and friends. Best part was getting to see my friend, Alessa Quizon, before she had to jump on a plane back to Cali. We got really close traveling together on tour the past couple years. She is one of the most genuine, down to earth, easy going people I have ever met.
I started working on a special "wedding" surprise for Luke. My Uncle Brendan, who owns Bead It, is teaching me how to stamp metal, solder and create texture. I took a few semesters of jewelry back in high school but it is way more enjoyable working on a project that means something to me. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Celebrated my Nana's 80th birthday on Saturday at the Halekulani hotel in Waikiki. She had no idea that we had planned a surprise party and was completely overwhelmed with emotion when she saw all her closest friends and family gathered to celebrate her life.
I have braces... again.
Lastly... wedding planning is in full swing. We did a walk through of our venue yesterday to figure out where we want the ceremony and reception to be and decided on tents and lighting. I think Luke is going to make a giant chandelier and he might also attempt to make the benches for the ceremony! He's so handy. All the big things are falling into place. I found my dress! We have good food and amazing desserts, music... It's starting to feel very real. Only six more months!!
