Peace
Half way through January 2019! Every time I write a journal entry I am baffled at where the time has gone. I am getting ready for the first Moore Aloha Surf Camp this weekend! A lot of planning has gone into the next few days and I am excited to see how it all turns out. Surfing and our love for the ocean is the platform that brings us together. At this camp, I want to create a space where girls can feel empowered to be themselves, make friendships, and learn. I am really looking forward to meeting all the participants! Oahu had a run of fun swell and beautiful conditions the past few days. Haleiwa was absolutely dreamy. I got to share the lineup with a few of my heroes. Jack Johnson got the wave of the day and it was a pleasure to watch from the channel and take notes as Kelly Slater attacked perfect six foot walls. Besides surfing my brains out recently and the upcoming camp, I've had a few other highlights. Luke made me a barn door from scratch! How does one do this? I do not know. But it is stunning and I am so amped on it. I have recently put potted plants all around my house. It's not that exciting but it makes me very happy. Reflecting on 2018, I wanted to share with you one of my "aha!" realizations. Expectation is a joy killer. It is okay to want something, to set goals, to visualize and work toward something with passion and enthusiasm but you have to be willing to let go and detach from the end result. It is all about the journey, the process, and enjoying every moment. When you are completely present, adapting and flowing with whatever comes your way, that leads to happiness, peace and ultimately success! That goes for anything and everything. Expectations with people and situations. There were a few times this past year that I had set expectations on an event or what I wanted someone to do for me. When it didn't go my way, I turned into miss negative Nancy. My theme for 2019 is peace. To find contentment with who I am, where I am and my purpose and share that peace, happiness and love with the world around me. Thanks for checking in!! Hope you are smiling today wherever you are :) Xx, Carissa
